Aura Almond Scrub Bar
Hope you all are killing it with your positive vibes as monsoon struggles to take place of this hot and humid weather. Devour your mangoes before the season ends, take a chill pill and read on to find out more about Almond Scrub Bar by Aura.

I have a dry skin type, so naturally I’m always on a look out for products which do not strip off the moisture from my skin. Using carefully handcrafted natural soaps has not only helped improve my otherwise dry skin’s elasticity, but also got me rid of post-shower skin issues and hangnails and dry cuticles of hand and feet, caused by commercial soaps, so there’s no going back.

About the Brand:

Aura is a natural and handmade skincare brand based in Lahore, Pakistan, with the manifesto of trusting nature. It deals with natural and handmade skin care and hair care products.

Brand Claims about the Product:

ALMOND SCRUB BAR for dry skin // evens out skin tone, retains skin moisture and elasticity, exfoliates dead skin, cleanses pores and adds glow if the bar is rubbed gently against the skin. Recommended for dry skin.

“Almond oil is a rich source of Vitamins A, B, and E, which are excellent for the skin. It clears up acne and removes dead skin cells while making you look more radiant and fresh! The best part is that it is great for all skin types! It is also the best natural dark circles and age spot eraser! Watch your dark circles, fine lines and dullness fade away in days! This handcrafted soap bar helps retain moisture, improves complexion and soothes psoriasis and eczema prone skin!”

My Thoughts:

I am somebody who is a bit too lazy when it comes to using body scrubs (unless it’s weekend and I have enough time to pamper myself), so discovering a soap with the properties of a scrub was a win-win situation for me.

Like all other soaps by the brand, Aura Almond Scrub bar comes in a simple yet classy packaging. The label carries information about the ingredients of the soap, skin type it is suitable for, manufacturing and expiry date as well as usage instructions. When I started using this scrub bar, I was suffering from bacne and eczema (for the first time in my life) and I did not know what to do. FYI, acne does not occur on oily or combination skin only, but dry skin as well. Besides clogged pores/hair follicles, dead skin cells, cosmetic products, dirt, and bacteria can also cause acne. Within a few days of use, my bacne disappeared! Can you imagine that? Completely GONE! Because of the presence of fatty acids, almond oil is known to be the most commonly used acne treatment, which is also effective for treating other skin issues like eczema and psoriasis.

Aura Almond Scrub Bar
The best thing about this scrub bar is that unlike body scrubs, which are more time consuming in terms of application and may cause fallouts, it is quite handy to use. It produces a decent amount of lather, which can be increased further by using a loofah, which is what I always do. Using a loofah is just a matter of personal preference for me because I feel that it makes easier to rub and cleanse the skin post-application. The scrub bar is generously infused with finely grated almonds, which are not abrasive at all, and act as excellent exfoliating particles for the skin. After using this bar, my skin feels squeaky clean and healthy.

Almond, castor, and coconut oils, are rich sources of Vitamin E. Aura Almond scrub bar is moderately hydrating; however, people with extremely dry skin like me might need to follow up with a body butter, sorbet, lotion or any other moisturiser. Although the label says that it is suitable for dry skin, but due to the presence of almond oil, I feel it will work well for acne prone/oily as well as combination skin types as well.

General Tips Usage & Storage:
  • Cut the bar into two or more pieces to use it with more ease and make it last longer.
  • Keep the scrub bar dry between uses by using a soap dish with slots or holes to drain excess water, preventing the bar from melting.

  • Handmade.
  • Chemical free.
  • Label carries all the necessary details.
  • Made with Au Natural ingredients.
  • Moderately moisturising.
  • Exfoliates the skin with ease.
  • Keeps acne at bay.
